Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County will host its 7th Annual Tower Shoot to help alleviate hunger throughout the county. With 95% of Club members now living at or below the poverty level, Club members, more than ever, rely upon the organization’s Hunger Relief programs. The fundraising event will be held Saturday, December 4, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pine Creek Sporting Club, 23721 NE 48th Ave, Okeechobee, Fla., and is limited to 24 participants.

“The Tower Shoot is my favorite event of the year. I’m able to get together with friends and support the vital programs the Clubs provide to over 10,000 children in Palm Beach County,” said Event Co-Chairman Kim Fonseca. “Although there hasn’t been as much attention in the news lately to families struggling from food insecurities, the issue is as prevalent as it was during the early part of the pandemic. This year the proceeds generated from this event will support the Clubs’ hunger relief initiatives.”

In Palm Beach County, over 226,000 residents struggle with hunger. More than 53,000 of those residents are children. The hunger relief programs allow the Clubs to serve members at all 17 Club sites healthy snacks and hot meals each school day. The Clubs are on track this year to serve more than 675,000 meals.

“Many of our Club families are still struggling financially due to the economic slowdown caused by the pandemic. The recovery has proven to be slower in neighborhoods that we serve have not bounced back as quickly as other neighborhoods in the area,” said President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, Jaene Miranda. “Proceeds from this event will support our vital hunger relief programs that provide food for thousands of children and their families in the county who need it most.”

Chairs for the 7th Annual Tower Shoot include Kim Fonseca, Chuck Schumacher and Jason Regalbuto. Sponsors include Kim Fonseca, Michael Ferro, George G. Matthews, Chad Moss, Myers Auto Group, Chuck Schumacher, Jason Regalbuto and John Taylor.
