Club members, both past and present, gathered to mark the end of an impactful summer with a celebration of their accomplishments on National Intern Day. This is a day dedicated to recognizing the next generation of leaders: interns.
This summer, current members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County engaged in immersive career exploration within the organization itself. Teens had the unique opportunity to work alongside professionals in departments such as marketing, operations, and human resources. These hands-on experiences gave members an inside look at the variety of careers available through the Club, sparking new interests and broadening their understanding of the workforce.
Meanwhile, Club alumni and former Youth of the Year finalists pursued internships beyond the Club. Some joined corporate partners, gaining valuable professional experience, while others returned to the Club to mentor younger members, bringing their journey full circle.
Among them was Kelvin Rolle, a 2023 Youth of the Year finalist, who completed his second summer interning with GL Homes while continuing his studies in civil engineering. Reflecting on his time at GLHomes, Kelvin shared, “My biggest takeaway from my internship this year is to be confident in my work and in myself, and that I deserve to be in the rooms that I am in.”
The achievements of these young leaders reflect a deep commitment to personal growth and community impact. We are incredibly proud of all our Club members for their dedication, determination, and vision. Their efforts this summer are not just internships, they are experiences essential to creating Great Futures.
