This fall, all 13 Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County teen sites will begin implementing Career Launch, a national Boys & Girls Clubs of America workforce readiness initiative. The program is designed to equip teens with the knowledge, skills, and the confidence they need to navigate today’s workforce and prepare for bright futures.

The Career Launch curriculum focuses on three key areas: career exploration, career preparation, and career experiences. By combining guided learning with hands-on opportunities, teens gain both practical tools and real-world insights.

• Explore Career Paths: Members will participate in guided assessments, including a career interest survey, to help them identify their strengths, skills, and potential career pathways. With this foundation, they will research and compare opportunities in industries such as healthcare, technology, construction, business, and public service.
• Build Employability Skills: Interactive sessions will give teens the chance to practice completing job applications, building résumés, preparing for interviews, and learning workplace etiquette. Core skills like communication, teamwork, problem-solving, time management, and leadership are woven throughout the curriculum to ensure members are ready for the demands of the modern workplace.
• Engage in Real-World Experiences: From vision boards that map out long-term goals to College and Career Fairs, Teen Talks, and Speaker Series with local professionals, members will have access to immersive learning experiences. Cutting-edge technology, such as Transfr VR Career Exploration goggles, will also allow teens to simulate career tasks in high-demand industries, offering a unique and engaging perspective on future possibilities.

By connecting classroom lessons to real-world applications, Career Launch helps teens do more than imagine what’s possible—it gives them the tools to make it happen. Whether their paths lead to college, trade school, military service, or direct entry into the workforce, participants leave the program better prepared for the journey ahead.
