Youth of the Year Finalists Prepare for Big Day

YOY shopping (3)

With the  7th Annual Youth of the Year dinner quickly approaching, Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County’s 2021 Youth of the Year finalists were given the opportunity to experience an eventful shopping day, courtesy of the Palm Beach Gardens Mall, and receive the star treatment from Comcast during a professional video shoot.

Recently each of the seven finalists shopped for professional attire including an outfit for the Youth of the Year event with $750 gift cards provided by The Gardens Mall. To top off the day full of shopping,  Shake Shack treated the finalists to a delicious lunch.

“Being able to be apart of such a special experience with each of the finalists was very exciting, ” said Development Manager for Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, Nicole Miranda .”The teens had an amazing time and were grateful for the opportunity. We can’t thank The Gardens Mall and Shake Shack enough for making this possible for our Youth of the Year finalists.”

Prior to the Youth of the Year shopping Day, finalists had their moment to shine in front of the camera while being interviewed by a production crew from Comcast. Each Youth of the Year finalist was able to share their personal story and describe how their Club changed their life. Comcast is the senior media sponsor for the 2021 Youth of the Year Dinner. During the dinner, the video segments featuring each of the Youth of the Year finalists individually will debut in front of the live and virtual audience.

“The Youth of the Year video segments are extremely important in allowing our amazing teens to tell their story. Sometimes they make us laugh, sometimes cry, but many times we do both,” said Eric Roby, marketing and public relations director for Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. “Our finalists are fighters and the obstacles they’ve overcome to be Youth of the Year is inspiring. To bottle that raw emotion, we keep the videos a surprise until the dinner. The finalists don’t even get to see their video until that night.”
