Earlier this year, UTC Climate, Controls & Security, part of United Technologies, announced its donation of $500,000 toward the Belle Glade Campaign. The donation was announced during the official grand opening of the UTC Center for Intelligent Buildings, its new headquarters in Palm Beach Gardens.

As part of the grand opening celebration and just before Earth Day, employee volunteers from UTC Climate, Controls & Security spent an afternoon with Club kids helping them learn about the importance of water conservation. Teen members were also invited to tour the 224,000 sq. ft. headquarters and enjoy a lecture by Harvard Professor Dr. Joseph Allen on the impact of indoor air quality on cognitive function.

The tremendous gift will establish the Technology Room at the Smith & Moore Family Teen Center, which will increase Club members’ digital literacy and prepare them for a career in today’s digital world. Thank you, United Technologies!
