In its 7th year, Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County’s Tower Shoot shattered a fundraising record to fight childhood hunger. The event described by donors as the ultimate outdoor experience raised $160,000, a 60 percent increase over last year’s record. Participants enjoyed a day of game shooting at one of the most exclusive sporting clubs in the nation, Pine Creek Sporting Club in Okeechobee, Fla., on December 4, 2021. Breakfast and a barbeque lunch were enjoyed, along with an Annie Oakley shooting competition.

“I am ecstatic as this has been our best year yet. Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County is an organization that touches the lives of more than 10,000 youth annually in the county. All the supporters of the Tower Shoot event are happy to support the work of the Clubs and help fund the Clubs’ Hunger Relief Programs to make sure every child has a healthy every day,” said Event Chairman Kim Fonseca.

Palm Beach County is one of the wealthiest counties in the nation, but on any given day, approximately 226,000 residents struggle with hunger. More than 53,000 of those residents are children, according to recent statistics. Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County’s Hunger Relief Program serves Club members with healthy snacks and nutritious meals daily. In 2021, the organization’s 17 Clubs are expected to hand out more than 675,000 meals.

“Without important fundraisers like the Tower Shoot, our Clubs would not be able to provide the much-needed meals and nutrition that our Club members depend upon to be able to succeed. If a child is hungry, they can not concentrate on reaching their full potential,” said President & CEO of Boys & Girls Club of Palm Beach County Jaene Miranda. “We are grateful for the support and the essential help that these funds will bring to our Club members.”

Chairmen for the 7th Annual Tower Shoot were Kim Fonseca, Jason Regalbuto and Chuck Schumacher. The Title Sponsors included Jacky & Michael Ferro and Chuck Schumacher.

12 Gauge Sponsors were George W. Banks, George G. Matthews, Moss Foundation, Patricia A. Quick Charitable Trust, Jason Regalbuto and John J. Taylor, III. 20 Gauge Sponsors were Winston Wren and Myers Auto Group. Underwriters included Robert R. Douglass, Jr., Kathleen & Lou Hager, and, Margaret & John Shaffer.
