The Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County held its 10th Annual Tower Shoot in December and raised $165,000 to help its hunger relief programs at all 20 Clubs. The outdoor event was held at Pine Creek Sporting Club in Okeechobee, one of the most exclusive sporting clubs in the nation, and it honored the life of Peter Summers.
The late George Ellis “Peter” Summers, a long-time resident of Palm Beach, FL, passed away on May 10, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on January 30, 1943, Peter was a beloved community member and a steadfast supporter of numerous organizations, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. A passionate outdoorsman, he was a dedicated member of Pine Creek Sporting Club and a cherished participant in the Tower Shoot event every year.
“It was a glorious day to enjoy the outdoors and raise money for hunger relief at all our Clubs. It was so touching to have Ann Summers there to fire the cannon to kick off the event and honor Peter who was such a friend to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County and his legacy of generosity and commitment continues to inspire us all,” said Jaene Miranda, President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.
The chairs of the event were Kim Fonseca, Chuck Schumacher, and Jason Regalbuto. The major sponsors were the Moss Foundation, Chuck Schumacher, John J. Taylor, III, Abraham Foundation, George Matthews, Jason Regalbuto, and Kim Fonseca. Hadleighs Palm Beach also set up a pop-up shop with a portion of proceeds going back to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.
