Schumacher Subaru of West Palm Beach and Schumacher Subaru of Delray Beach raised a combined $55,396 through the Subaru Share the Love Event. The funds raised by the purchase or lease of new vehicles will help Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County continue COVID-19 recovery efforts by funding emergency hunger relief programs and providing extra academic support to fight a growing achievement gap caused by distance learning.

“This is always one of our favorite events because of the impact on the community,” said Charles Schumacher of the Schumacher Auto Group. “We are happy to help the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County continue their efforts to help with the recovery from the pandemic.”

Last year Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County handed out 1.2 million meals to children in response to the increased need created by COVID-19. As emergency hunger programs continue inside the Clubs, the organization is increasing academic support. The goal is to provide the needed extra academic help to Club members to reverse a growing achievement gap caused by distance learning and the pandemic.

“We are extremely grateful for the Subaru Share the Love Event and we want to thank Amanda and Charles Schumacher for their generosity,” Said Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County President & CEO Jaene Miranda. “Because of this donation we will be able to continue our emergency hunger relief programs through the rest of the year and we will be able to hire more tutors to provide extra academic support for our Club members to fight the growing achievement gap.”

Over the last 13 years, the Subaru Share the Love Event has donated more than $200 million to local and national charities. For the fifth consecutive year, there was not a cap placed on the total donation from Subaru Share the Love Event charitable partners.
