“The important work of empowering fathers and father figures to become more engaged in lives of their children and their families is far bigger than any one group or organization. The support of Impact 100 will undoubtedly pave the way for Project FACT to extend this most valuable work with fathers and their families to the southern part of the county. I am totally excited,” said Project FACT Director Shamus Gordon.
Impact 100 Palm Beach County is a group of philanthropic women who join together to award $100,000 grants to local nonprofit organizations to allow them to launch or expand high-impact initiatives or programs in southern Palm Beach County. This year six grants were awarded to a diverse group of organizations. Project FACT was awarded the grant for the family category.
“We are extremely grateful for the show of support from all of the members of Project 100. Creating far reaching impact in the community not only takes hard work, but it also requires the support of organizations like Project 100. I’m confident with this new grant, Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County and Project FACT will be able to positively impact hundreds of families over the next two years,” said President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County Jaene Miranda.
Since Project FACT is already a successful program in central Palm Beach County, the expansion will be nearly immediate. Programs will help local fathers foster stronger relationships with their children while also preparing teens to transition into manhood.
In the past, Project FACT has held large community events that include Father-Daughter Dances, Father’s Day events and reading to children events. The organization pairs younger fathers with more experienced fathers to be role models.
