Cultural Arts

This emerging recording arts and digital media production program allows teen members training in sound and video production, photojournalism, graphic design, lyricism, songwriting as well as broadcast journalism techniques.  Coached by staff, teaching artists and mentor volunteers, members create club newscasts, zines, music releases and a podcast series in which they interview local career professionals, young athlete scholars and community leaders on topics of interest to teenagers today.  

Boca Ballet Theater – First Step, a ballet training program generously underwritten by the Vegso Family Foundation, provides dance apparel, ballet shoes and dance instruction exclusively to Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.  In addition to a year round dance instructional program and annual performance, Boca Ballet Theater's First Step program extends dance scholarships to dedicated First Step students to attend the BBT dance school through elementary, middle and high school.

*African Dance & Drum – West African Cultural Arts, Dance & Drum program provides members a glimpse into the vast array of cultural art forms and expression that originate in West Africa.  Members learn dances and drum rhythms that tell the stories of daily life over thousands of years on the continent of Africa and explore how cultural dance and drum styles have spread throughout the world, influencing music and dance in the Caribbean and South America.

Benzaiten Center – “Taste of Glass” Field Trips allow our members to learn about the art of glass, to practice sandcasting techniques and create their very own works of art with glass.

*CAPE Universal– Celebrating cultural arts of the Carribean and Latin America, CAPE Universal provides programs in drumming, cultural songs, dances and visual art to inspire and empower youth.  In addition to direct instruction in our clubs, CAPE Universal celebrates cultural arts in their annual Black History Youth Arts Awareness Festival and Multicultural Arts Festival.

Symphonia – This major outreach program of The Boca Raton Philharmonic Symphonia is dedicated to Building a String Orchestra and Self Esteem. Professional musicians of the Symphonia provide weekly lessons on string instruments, reading music and musical theory to BGCPBC members.

FAU Galleries – The Artist Mentorship Program (AMP) is an outreach art program of the University Galleries, FAU Museum Education Program, partnering with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. FAU art students and alumni teach visual arts classes to youth ages 8 to 17. The AMPlified exhibitions showcase the student works made throughout the course of the programs Spring and Fall semesters, and AMP CAMP during the summer where members experience a week-long immersion in art technique on the Boca Raton campus of Florida Atlantic University.

Norton Museum of Art – Afterschool Arts Outreach is a year-round, creative youth development program that provides significant out-of-school arts experiences to Palm Beach County youth, ages 5-18. The innovative arts program aims to foster creativity and stimulate critical thinking skills in a supportive environment. The program is led by a dedicated team of Norton Teaching Artists, who are dynamic, caring role models, helping students develop self-esteem through positive achievement.  The free program includes art projects and Museum tours designed to expand students’ world views by exposing them to multicultural and arts-integrated history, music, and literature.

Boca Raton Museum of Art – Art Afterschool provides dynamic visual art experiences for K-12 students with free classes for students to explore their creativity, expand their worldviews, and gain confidence through art-making. Teaching artists guide students through hands-on lessons inspired by artworks from the Boca Raton Museum of Art collection, and each session culminates in a class field trip to visit the Museum.

Picasso's Creative Workshop – From customized art kits to special field trip events, Picasso's Creative Workshop provides a range of arts services and programs for Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County

Synergy Music Camp – South Florida's premier percussion and music industry program with a mission to innovate, inform and inspire students of the arts.  Synergy Music Camp professional producers and teaching musicians distill professional technique to instruct BGCPBC members and support recording arts projects within our clubs.

Forever Dope Media Group & Studios – A collective of creatives who are passionate about all aspects of media, ranging from audio to visual, content creation and more, FDMG provides creative consultation and recording arts programs for BGCPBC members.

Dolly Hand Cultural Center at the Palm Beach State College Belle Glade Campus – As a focal point for performing arts in the Glades area, the Dolly Hand Cultural Center provides discounted tickets to touring shows and seasonal performance opportunities and gallery shows of BGCPBC member art.

Rockstar 101 – RockStar 101’s mission is to empower children of all ages with and through the use of the universal language: music. Through self-expression, our all-inclusive programs help build good and strong character by instilling confidence, teamwork and the importance of legacy, all in a high-energy FUN atmosphere where children are heard, ultimately helping them become Rockstars on the stage of life!

Rohi's Readery – An award winning social justice driven children's bookstore and learning center dedicated to critical literacy that promotes inclusivity and diversity, Rohi's Readery programs give voice to the cultural heritage of our member communities and countries of origin.  Members benefit from activities grounded in storytelling, artistic expression and engaging, age-appropriate literature.
