The new Smith and Moore Family Teen Center in Belle Glade is living up to it’s mission to help all who enter the state-of-the-art Club graduate high school on time and have a plan for a post-secondary degree granting program. Construction on the 13,000 square foot facility wrapped up in the middle of the pandemic. As a result, the opening celebration was not held until this spring for safety purposes. The benefits are already being seen with 98% of Club seniors graduating on time and 94% entering a post-secondary education/ trade program or military service.
Now that the Teen Center is fully operational, reviews from the teens have been stellar. The Club members are excited to learn more about potential careers in culinary, robotics, technology, computer coding, media, farming and the arts. All areas of interest have designated areas within the new facility to help train tomorrow’s workforce and enable all young people to reach their full potential.
