Martin Luther King Jr. Service Rally 2025

MLK Day 3

To honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of service, AmeriCorps at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County hosted over 160 teens in a transformative service rally.

Teens from our Club sites at John I. Leonard High School, Santaluces Community High School, Lake Worth Community High School, and Conniston Middle School came together to share their communities with one another. This was an amazing opportunity for the teens to show off their talents through various performances and speeches. Two of Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County’s 2025 Youth of the Year Finalists, Phildensy Jean and Nathanael Jean-Jacques, spoke about the magnitude of teens coming together in a shared community. Phildensy is an AmeriCorps member and Nathanael gave a powerful singing performance that moved everyone in the audience.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Day Service Rally was the culmination of an entire week of transforming communities through action. Members from multiple Clubs throughout Palm Beach County created posterboards illustrating Dr. King’s legacy and submitted them to our Martin Luther King Jr. gallery for display.

“This was a transformative event for the teens where they not only had fun, but supported each other and their talents,” said Jada Diogostine, AmeriCorps Program Manager. “It introduced them to new identities.”

Many of the members of the AmeriCorps program expressed their excitement for this event, and are looking forward to making next year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Week of Service even more impactful!

We cannot wait to see how these young and talented leaders use their passion for service to change the world!
