The Max M. Fisher Boys & Girls Club of Riviera Beach is getting a powerful new addition this summer—a Teen Fuel Zone, made possible by a generous $43,000 grant from BJ’s Wholesale Club and the BJ’s Charitable Foundation. This vibrant new space will offer teens healthy snacks and drinks, giving them the fuel they need to thrive—both mentally and physically—in a fun, safe environment designed just for them.

This marks the second Teen Fuel Zone investment for BJ’s Wholesale Club, following the success of the first installation with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston. Now, the teens of Riviera Beach will benefit from this impactful initiative, which is designed to combat hunger, boost teen attendance, and create a welcoming hangout space filled with smart food choices.

Located within the teen room at the Riviera Beach Club, the new Teen Fuel Zone will be outfitted with a fridge, shelving, a microwave, and—most importantly—a steady supply of nutritious snacks and beverages. The new Fuel Zone opened this May!

“Food insecurity is a real challenge in our community, and teens are often overlooked when it comes to hunger relief,” said Jaene Miranda, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. “Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of BJ’s Wholesale Club, our teens won’t have to turn to junk food or go without. Instead, they’ll have a cool place to refuel, connect with friends, and focus on building a great future.”

BJ’s Wholesale Club recently opened a new location at 777 Executive Center Drive, just off Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard, strengthening its commitment to the Palm Beach County community. The support from BJ’s is helping Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County meet a critical need.

“BJ’s Wholesale Club is driven by a powerful purpose: taking care of the families who depend on us,” said Kirk Saville, corporate communications at BJ’s Wholesale Club. “We know how vital fresh, healthy food is to the growth and development of youth, and we’re proud to support the mission the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.”

According to the Palm Beach County Food Bank, one in five local children experiences hunger. At the same time, 95% of Club members live at or below the poverty line, relying heavily on the Clubs’ Hunger Relief programs. Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County serves over 13,000 nutritious meals each week, ensuring that every child is nourished so they can learn, lead, and succeed.
