Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Comcast Award Local Club New Passenger Van
As winner of the non-profit’s Back2School Stuff the Bus Challenge, Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County to receive much needed transportation and supplies worth more than $100,000
WEST PALM BEACH, Nov. 11, 2016 – Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Comcast along with other corporate supporters presented Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County with a brand new 2016 Chevrolet Express Passenger van (MSRP $40,000), generously donated by McGinn and Company, as part of the non-profit’s Back2School™ Stuff the Bus challenge. Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County’s Marjorie S. Fisher Club was awarded the van because of their service to kids in the community.
The new vehicle will be used to help the organization with transporting kids and teens to the facility after-school. The critical resource is vital in helping local youth get the opportunity to attend a Club to engage in Club programming and activities like homework help, STEM learning, coding, sports and leadership clubs.
Comcast employees at the company’s headquarters in Philadelphia helped fill the bus with donated supplies back in September. In addition, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County will be awarded $25,000 cash as well as other donated supplies from partners with a value of more than $25,000 including:
- Kid Collection Socks from Gold Toe®
- $3,000 in Gift Cards from JoAnn Fabrics & Craft Stores
- Art with Edge Coloring Books, Ultra-Clean Washable Markers and Colored Pencils from Crayola
- Softgrip Rulers, Deluxe-Double Sharpeners, Student Scissors, Kids Scissors from Fiskars
- Nutra-Bars from ViSalus
- 200 new Backpacks from Burlington Stores
- $300 in Gift Cards from Family Dollar
- Black G2 gel ink pens from Pilot Pens
In addition, Lenovo will provide a technology center makeover based upon the needs of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.

The Back2School campaign aligns with Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Great Futures Campaign, which calls attention to the crisis facing kids and elevates the role of out-of-school time in reversing negative trends in the areas of poor academic performance, obesity, drug use, and youth-related violence. The Great Futures Campaign for America’s kids is mobilizing the nation in support of after-school and summer programs that tackle these issues to inspire and empower more youth toward success.
