Riviera Beach Teen Wins Youth of the Year Honor for Bboys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County

Alexia Lyles-Murray was named the 2016-2017 Youth of the Year for Palm Beach County. Selected among several local outstanding youth, Alexia will compete against other Boys & Girls Club members for the Florida Youth of the Year title and a $5,000 college scholarship from Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA). The Youth of the Year program honors our nation’s most awe-inspiring young people on their path to great futures and encourages all kids to lead, succeed and inspire. As the new Youth of the Year Palm Beach County, 17 year old Alexia is a true example of an extraordinary young woman recognized by BGCA for her leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to giving back to the community.

Sentient Jet Presents Charity Donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County

Sentient Jet, a Directional Aviation Capital company, presented a $9,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County at the U.S. Open Polo Championship final on Sunday, April 24. The donation is part of Sentient Jet’s Soar and Score Challenge, which the company launched earlier this year as the Exclusive Private Aviation Partner of the International Polo Club Palm Beach.

Buffalo Wild Wings® and Team Up for Kids®

Buffalo Wild Wings is proud to partner with Boys & Girls Club of America (BGCA) to help more kids play team sports. On Wednesday, April 13, Buffalo Wild Wings will be celebrating their third-annual Community Day. The purpose of Community Day is to help kids in every Buffalo Wild Wings community. Donations will go directly to a Boys & Girls Club elected by each restaurant.

Barefoot on the Beach Raises Over $325,000

Over 400 guests celebrated the 15th Anniversary of one of Palm Beach’s undisputed parties of the year, Barefoot on the Beach benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. Guests dressed in chic white attire packed the Beach Club at The Breakers and danced into the wee hours of the night to one of the hottest and most unique DJ/Band hybrids, “Fusion”. Honorary Chairs were Reid Boren and Tom Quick and Brooks Bishop, Lauren Borman, Taylor Collins, Keith Williams and Craig Gibson, Jr. served as Co-Chairs.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delray Beach Honors CEO of Seagate Hospitality Group, Tony Wilson

The Boys & Girls Club of Delray Beach hosted the fourth annual Be Great Celebration Dinner to benefit the Delray Beach Club members on Friday, March 11, 2016, at the Delray Beach Marriott. The dinner raised over $132,000 for the Delray Club and honored Tony Wilson, Chairman, President, CEO of Seagate Hospitality Group, and the Youth of the Year of Delray Beach, Club member Karah Pierre. Over 200 supporters attended the dinner.

The Winter Ball Sparkles with $1.2 Million Dollar Event

The Venetian Ballroom of the Breakers Palm Beach was transformed into a winter wonderland in celebration of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County’s 35th Annual Gala, The Winter Ball which took place on Friday, February 5th. Once again, the prestigious event hit record highs by raising over one point two million dollars to benefit the Club’s children. Leading the charge were this year’s chairmen, Julie and Mike Connors with Honorary Chairmen Thomas Quick and Danielle H. Moore.

A Star Studded Boys & Girls Club Wellington Dinner Dance Captivates Guests with an Emotional Club Member Presentation

The Neil S. Hirsch Family Boys & Girls Club hosted the 28th Annual Wellington Dinner Dance themed Denim & Diamonds on Friday, January 8, 2016 at the International Polo Club Palm Beach, with proceeds helping the Club serve an additional 150 Wellington children in 2016. For more than two decades this event has brought supporters and philanthropists of the Boys & Girls Club of Wellington together for an evening of cocktails, silent and live auction, dinner and dancing. But the highlight of the evening took place after dinner with the emotional presentation by current Club member Demetreous Holden who drove the crowd of over 300 guests, many with tears in their eyes, to a standing ovation for his heartfelt speech. Demetreous shared with guests his experience with the Club expressed his gratitude to the Club staff and supporters.
