Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County now has 110 certified teachers working in 17 Clubs across the county. The teachers are essential to help Club members overcome an achievement gap made worse by the pandemic and challenges related to distance learning. Because the teachers work tirelessly to help Club members succeed, the Smith & Moore Family Teen Center in Belle Glade held a special Teacher Appreciation Day.

“The teachers in our Clubs truly are heroes! Most work a full day in the classroom before showing up at the Clubs and continue their important work. They do it because it is their passion to help children and teens. We want to make sure our teachers understand how valued they are and how important they are to our mission to ensure that all young people reach their full potential,” said Jaene Miranda, president & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.

The Club members worked hard to let their teachers and Club staff know how much they appreciate their personal sacrifices to help them achieve. Teachers were honored with certificates, special art projects and other goodies, and were moved by the outpouring of support.
