Modernizing Medicine Donates More Than 200 Backpacks With School Supplies to Club Kids

Circle of Supplies and Backpacks

On Friday, June 8 the cafeteria at Modernizing Medicine, with headquarters in Boca Raton, became alive as staff members and children formed a spirited assembly line to stuff more than 200 backpacks with school supplies to benefit disadvantaged children.

The excitement was part of the electronic medical records company’s annual “Bring A Child To Work” Day, led by its Employee Engagement Team. Two weeks leading up to the fun day, staff members were encouraged to bring the backpacks and school supplies. Their generosity came through in a big way as departments engaged in friendly competition to win at bringing the most items. As a result, more than 200 backpacks and enough supplies to fill each ensures that every member at the Naoma Donnelley Haggin Boys & Girls Club of Delray Beach and Boys & Girls Club of Boca Raton will return to school equipped with the tools needed for academic success.

Prior to stuffing the backpacks, the children colored a card and wrote a special message that was included in the backpacks for Boys & Girls Club members. They heard about the importance of the Club in the community and its impact on youth.

“It is a wonderful thing when a company fosters a culture of giving,” said Jaene Miranda, president and CEO of BGCPBC. “Staff members at Modernizing Medicine stepped up to the plate when tasked with giving to the less fortunate in their backyard. We are so grateful for their support and welcome them as a new friend of Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.”
