Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County is coming together this month to amplify one message: Mental Health Matters!
At May’s Impact Meeting, our staff came together and got their green on to recognize the importance of mental health and support Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County’s Wellbeing and Life Skills program! This program and the team that support it promotes mental health awareness by providing youth with meaningful opportunities to build healthy coping skills, strengthen relationships, and develop positive wellness habits.
Wellbeing and Life Skills staff facilitate engaging sessions that help Club members learn how to navigate stress in healthy and productive ways while supporting their emotional growth and resilience. We are proud of the work our dedicated staff have done to support the well-being of Club members across Palm Beach County and for empowering them to develop confidence and self-worth!
In the Clubs, our members are championing their own mental health with the support of our Wellbeing & Life Skills staff! Wellbeing and Life Skills staff, Ms. Medley, and Club Director, Ms. Irene, got their green on with Club members at Gove Elementary! Members created signs, art, and banners that promote the importance of addressing and moving through one’s emotions. This opened conversations with peers, teachers, and friends about the invisible ups and downs we all experience. At the Marjorie S. Fisher Club, members ventured into a Garden of Mental Wellness facilitated by Wellbeing and Life Skills staff, Ms. Solange! This activity taught resiliency and healthy coping skills for when our Club members are feeling really BIG emotions, giving them the confidence to navigate through their own mental health.
We are so proud of our Club members and staff for amplifying this essential message of mental health awareness, being the force for good in their communities.
