A South Florida-based toymaker, Fun in Motion Toys, shared with Club members at the Smith & Moore Family Teen Center the secret of their success while donating their bestselling Shashibo toy to the Teen Center on Wednesday, May 19. Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County staff  used the event to teach Club members marketing strategies used by the toy manufacturer and STEM activities related to the shape-shifting toy.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for the members of our new Smith & Moore Family Teen Center in Belle Glade. We think of the center as a career readiness center, and what better way to prepare our future entrepreneurs than to allow them to learn directly from those already succeeding on a global scale,” said Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County Cultural Arts Coordinator Casandra Tanenbaum.

Fun in Motion Toys is a fast-growing 10-year-old toy company based in South Florida that focuses on toys that stimulate the mind and body. Their toys can be found in thousands of stores around the United States and have won numerous awards. Their shape-shifting box called Shashibo was ranked as the #1 toy sold on Amazon in 2020. The company is currently on pace to more than double sales for the 5th year in a row.

“One of the messages we’d like to convey to the kids is that they possess the ability to achieve greatness, and there will be ups and downs and trial and error along the way,” said Fun in Motion Toys President and Co-Founder Kevin Daniels.  “Just as we experience day to day while running a toy company, through hard work, perseverance, not overlooking opportunities that come along, taking on challenges and a positive attitude, big success is completely achievable for them.”

After the career readiness and STEM activities, Fun in Motion Toys threw a “glow dance party” for the teens using light-up toys that promote movement.  Each teen was able to take home a toy made by Fun in Motion Toys to remember the first of its kind event at the new Teen Center.

“It is our goal to continue to engage our Club members with fun and educational activities that will have a direct impact on their future careers. This is what the Teen Center was built for, and it only makes sense to use the resources of our business community to help place our teens on a path to success,” said Tanenbaum.

“We at Fun in Motion Toys value the ability to impact people’s lives, especially children. Whether through our toys that offer physical and mental benefits gained through play or opportunities to partner with amazing organizations like the Boys and Girls Clubs, we look forward to doing great things together,” said Daniels.
