Delray Beach community makes the last day of summer special for club kids

Delray Police SM

On the last day of summer camp, youth at Naoma Donnelley Haggin Boys & Girls Club of Delray Beach planned a summer barbeque party and many members of the Delray Beach community stepped up, came out, and pitched in to make it a memorable day for kids and staff.

The wonderful folks at the Delray Beach Police Department stopped by with their party trailer full of snow cones.

“We appreciate the entire Delray Beach Police Department and especially Police Chief Jeff Goldman for teaching our kids about the various aspects of the police department,” said Club Director Janice Clemmons. “We look forward to meeting soon to plan various activities for the children and community this year.”

Danielle, DJ Eric, and the Purgreens team joined Club members in the gym for fitness fun.

They enjoyed games, sports, and dance music. A big thank you to Purgreens and especially Danielle for everything they’ve already done for us. We are excited to be working with the caring people at Purgreens going forward.

Also a big hug and thanks to Mr. Sheppard Gross from the City of Delray Beach and last year’s President of the Delray Beach Club Parent Committee. The City and Mr. Gross have been very giving to our club kids by supporting us throughout the year in every way they can, including providing food for our families during holidays and helping with the garden.

Last but definitely not least, thank you to Lowe’s for giving us the grills that allowed us to hold the BBQ in the first place.

It was a great way to end the summer and it would have been difficult without the help of generous people in the community.
