Four talented Club members have been recognized for their photo-taking skills by being honored at the ImageMakers Regional competition. These budding photographers spent the last year learning their craft with photography classes offered at Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. Club members ages 6 – 18 were given access to professional camera equipment and taught by a professional photographer. Learning and practicing the various types of photography, such as black-and-white, color, and digital and alternative process photography gives Club members the opportunity to develop professional skills behind the lens.

For nearly 50 years, the Clubs have recognized members for their outstanding accomplishments and unique ability to capture the beauty of nature, fashion and style, culture, and more. With the guidance and support of STEM Program Specialist Dennis Young and Professional Photographer and Skilled Enhancement Instructor Andrea Sarcos, Club members are able to enhance their unique abilities. This year, Club members from Smith & Moore Family Teen Center and Boys & Girls Club of Delray Beach were honored as the 2020 ImageMaker Regional winners for their breathtaking display of artistry.

“We are delighted to continue to work with BGCA through the ImageMakers program to showcase the very best of our Club member’s skills and talents,” said Cultural Arts Coordinator Casandra Tanenbaum.

The photographs taken for the ImageMaker Regional contest were recognized in the Culture and Tradition and Portraits categories. Due to the exceptional work of each Club member, all 4 photographs have been accepted into the 2020 ImageMaker National Photography Contest.

The four winners of the ImageMaker Regional Contest are Indwoesline Jean P., Nyomi D. and Ca’Nya O. from the Smith & Moore Family Teen Center, and Sarah A. from the Boys & Girls Club of Delray Beach.
