“For Ayanna to have her vision recognized in this way is exceptional and special and bodes well for her bright future,” said Cultural Arts Program Manager Casandra Tanenbaum.
Ayanna’s photograph will be featured in the special events section of the BGCA online art gallery and on BGCA.net the week of September 13. A commemorative plaque will also be awarded in recognition of the beautifully captured photograph.
For nearly 50 years, the Clubs have recognized members for their outstanding accomplishments and unique ability to capture the beauty of nature, fashion and style, culture, and more. With the guidance and support of Cultural Arts Program Manager Casandra Tanenbaum and Professional Photographer and Skilled Enhancement Instructor Andrea Sarcos, Club members are able to enhance their unique abilities.
The ImageMakers National Photography Contest allows young photographers ages 6-18 to compete in local and regional competitions, in which photographs are entered into several categories: Culture and Tradition, Portraits, Nature and Surroundings, Fashion and Style, and Editing and Filter. Sony and the BGCA National Photography Program supports the annual competition, which is designed to help Club members learn the many different elements of digital photography.
