This summer teens participating in the 21st Century Community Learning Center program at the Teen Center in Belle Glade, Florida, were challenged with the driving question “How can you inspire others through the creation of original music from inception to completion?” The teens were asked to produce an original song, complete with a music video, which would address the very prevalent issue of bullying in school. The project titled “Ain’t No Bullies ‘Round Here” presented the opportunity for Boys & Girls Club teens to immerse themselves in music video production by writing a song with original lyrics, producing a melody for the lyrics, choreographing a video for the song, and finally, editing it all together to create a music video. Participants exercised creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication in order to tackle the very relevant issue of bullying, both online and in life. Please take a moment to view their phenomenal final product!
