Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County Hits a Long Drive to Success with 26th Annual Golf Classic

Proceeds Benefit Club children

West Palm Beach, Fla. (May 28, 2015) – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County and CBS12’s Matt Lincoln, Chairman of the event, are proud to announce that this year’s Annual Golf Classic & Auction Party raised over $150,000 to benefit the at risk children served by the Clubs. Since its inception, the Annual Golf Classic has raised over $6 million for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. Joining Lincoln in his efforts were committee members Ben Hartman, Christine Pitts, Jason Locker, Mark Travaglini, Mary Church, Michelle Klein, Patrick McGarr, Reg Miller, Richard Parkos and Todd Barron.

The festivities began on Friday, May 8th at the Wyndham Grand Jupiter at Harbourside Place as BMO Private Bank hosted more than 165 guests to dinner and an auction party. During the reception, guests were greeted by Club members from the Max M. Fisher Boys & Girls Club and lingered on the patio as they browsed the incredible items in the silent auction. Items included golf foursomes to exclusive clubs, sports memorabilia, for the home appliances and electronics and many more!

The event continued Saturday morning as 120 golfers took to the links at the exclusive Dye Preserve Golf Club in Jupiter, with players hitting for top finishing prizes including handsome wrist watches by Tourneau, clubs and putters from Palm Beach Golf Center, KitchenAid products from Whirlpool. Players also had the chance to shoot for hole in ones, courtesy of Arrigo Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram.

Taking top honors as Gross Champions were Mark Travaglini, Toby Harbeck, Ron Lindsey and Jacob Keith with a score of 54. Net Category Champions were Brian Rolfs, Tom Holt, Jim Bomar and Joe Lower with a score of 47.

“The 26th Annual Boys & Girls Club of Palm Beach County Golf Classic and Auction was an incredible success,” said Matt Lincoln.  “I was so pleased to see so many people give of themselves, to help the almost 7,000 kids in our Clubs. We could not have asked for better settings than the Wyndham Harbourside and Dye Preserve.”

The Annual Golf Classic is proud to have the support of Publix Super Markets Charities and the William H. Pitt Foundation as Platinum Sponsors. Tournament sponsors include Brown Distributing, CBS12, The Honda Classic – Children’s Healthcare Charity, Palm Beach Golf Center, Tourneau, Whirlpool Corporation, Arrigo Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, Tire Kingdom Service Centers and D.S. Eakins Construction Corporation as a Gold Sponsor. Silver Sponsors include The Barron Group at UBS Financial, Bethesda Health, Health Care REIT, Inc., HMY Yachts, MDH Printing, PGA of America, Toshiba Business Solutions and Templeton & Company, LLC.

Proceeds from the Annual Golf Classic will support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, which offers 13 sites located in the County.  The Clubs provide services during non-school hours, as well as summer camp opportunities, to more than 6,000 boys and girls from ages 6 to 18.
