Inaugural BGC Boca Open Tennis & Pickleball Tournament Raises Over $42K

1. Elyse & Michael Filon

Game, set, match!  The first Boca Open Tennis and Pickleball Tournament was a smashing success having raised over $42K for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.  This fundraiser was held at The Boca Raton’s Racquet Club and featured a competitive tennis and pickleball tournament that was completely sold out.  The Boca Raton has been a longtime partner with the Boys & Girls Club of Boca Raton and provides weekly tennis lessons for its Club members.

The chairs of the event were Elyse and Michael Filon.  Honored at the event was Erik Silver, the tennis professional at The Boca Raton for his fifteen years of dedicated service to the Boys & Girls Club of Boca Raton.  Silver meets and teaches eight Club children each week for tennis lessons.

We send a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated sponsors and The Boca Raton for their amazing partnership in helping so many of our Club members experience the game of tennis.  This outing not only raised an incredible amount for our Clubs but allowed our supporters to be active and competitive playing tennis and the fastest growing sport in the nation… pickleball.  It was an impressive response from the community and we look forward to hosting and growing this tournament annually,” said Jaene Miranda, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.
