Since he was five years old, Jeremiah Jacques has liked taking things apart and figuring out how they work. At 19, Jeremiah still has that inquisitive mindset as a Palm Beach State College freshman with plans to become a civil engineer.

Through Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, this Belle Glade native secured a coveted behind-the-scenes hart-hat tour of GL Homes construction site, Lotus Edge, in Boca Raton.

GL Homes Senior Director of Land Development Anthony LoFurno and Land Development Director Heather Swanson, P.E. gave Jeremiah and his mother, Marie, along with Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County Corporate Partnership Director Chilondra Sheppard an in-depth look at the life an engineer in the homebuilding industry.

To cap off the day, GL Homes awarded Jeremiah a $1,000 college scholarship.
