On Friday May 3, eight volunteer cyclists will take to their bikes to participate in the 5th Annual Bike the Keys Challenge, a 200-mile charity bike ride to raise funds for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.  In its first four years this event raised over $45K.  This year, the funds collected will help fund the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County’s ‘Workforce and Career Readiness Program’.

This fundraiser started in 2020 when three cycling friends were looking for a new South Florida bike adventure and way to raise money for the community during the pandemic.  Founders Jack O’Shea, Zack Marcoux, and Yann Parrot will lead the group on their bikes starting in Key Largo, biking the 100 miles to Key West, then making the trip back to Key Largo.

“Bike the Keys has brought our group of friends together year after year to give back to the local community.  This is our fifth year running this event and it’s incredible to see the enthusiasm and support grow each year,” said Zach Marcoux, Bike the Keys Co-Founder.  “We started as three friends looking for a way to give back during the pandemic, biking 200 miles through the Florida Keys with nothing but a change of clothes and flip flops stuffed in a backpack. Now we have a much bigger team of riders wearing Bike the Keys jerseys, a top-notch support crew, and such a great partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. We’re very proud of the progress Bike the Keys has made, as it’s an event that we all look forward to every year.”

The 2024 Bike the Keys will have eight riders, each competitively raising funds for their individual rides.  To support the bikers, donate below.

The eight dedicated cyclists will be:

  • Zack Marcoux
  • Jack O’Shea
  • Yann Parrot
  • Anthony Frison
  • Morgan Furbay
  • Ally Furbay
  • John Fyfe
  • Hayden Radovich

“It’s always inspiring to have friends embrace their passion and create a unique way to raise meaningful funds that will greatly benefit our Club members.  The 2024 Bike the Keys Challenge will raise money for our work force readiness learning program, which is a dynamic program for our dedicated Club members as they ready themselves for entering either college or the workforce after high school,” said Jaene Miranda, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County.  “With great admiration we thank these eight bikers for embarking on this challenge for such an important cause.”
