Washington Nationals’ 1st Baseman Dom Smith Visits Marjorie S. Fisher

Marjorie S. Fisher Club Members with Washington Nationals’ First Baseman, Dom Smith and Mascot Screech

On Wednesday, March 8th, the Marjorie S. Fisher Boys & Girls Club members were surprised with a special visit from the Washington Nationals’ first baseman Dominic Smith, accompanied by their mascot, Screech! The members quickly made their way out to the field to play some classic baseball games and get some tips from Smith on how to bat, and catch like pros. Dom made sure to answer any questions the kids had about the game. The Club members were all smiles as they hung out and danced with Screech, the bald eagle mascot which made for a lively atmosphere during their visit.

“We cannot thank Dom and Screech enough for taking time out of their busy schedules to come hangout with our Club members,” said Grace Madden, Marketing Manager for Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. “It was incredible seeing Dom interact with the kids and I am certain this is a day they will never forget!”

After spending time playing on the Cal Ripken Field, they ended the visit by taking a group photo with both Dom and Screech, and some members even got an autograph signed by the first baseman himself.  To top off the visit, Smith gave bobble heads and tickets to upcoming spring training games to all the members, making it an unforgettable afternoon for the Marjorie S. Fisher Club members.
