GL Homes and Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County’s annual holiday gift drive was a success, thanks to the strong support of our community partners! During the month-long drive, community partners tirelessly collected toys and gifts to ensure Club members had a special and memorable holiday. Each Club member received at least one toy and enjoyed a festive holiday celebration at their Club.
With new economic pressures due to inflation, many local families could not afford to provide their children with gifts for the holidays. Currently, 95% of Club members live at or below the federal poverty level and the gift they received from the Club may have been the only one they got this holiday season.
This year, a wide variety of gifts were donated; barbie dolls, coloring sets, and bracelet kits to remote control cars, sports balls, skateboards, and scooters were gathered to ensure that every Club member got something they would enjoy. Typically, teens are often overlooked during holiday gift drives, but not at the Clubs. Items such as headphones, speakers, slippers, and gift cards poured in for Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County teen members, making it a holiday to remember for every Club member age 6-18.
