The Miami Marlins helped welcome the Club members on their first day back to school, Wednesday, August 16th at the Marjorie S. Fisher Club. The kids got to learn the basics of baseball, such as how to throw and hit the ball. The players also had engaging conversations with the kids telling them that they too can become professional athletes one day. It was an exciting experience for the children to hear the players’ back stories and the history of how they got to where they are today.
“Our Club members had a blast learning the ins and outs of baseball with the Miami Marlins,” said Public Outreach Manager for Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County Melissa Marks. “We thank the entire team for taking the time to interact with our youth and for inspiring them to chase after their dreams!
The players explained to the Club members that no matter where they come from, as long as they give their best effort in what they do, they can do or be anything they want. The Marlins had players from different countries, which allowed the children to see that these players have come from many walks of life. The ongoing partnership with The Miami Marlins continues to set great examples for the kids and excite them for the future.
