Bridgestone Retail Operations Team Members surprised members of Marjorie S. Fisher Boys & Girls Club on Thursday, June 30th with an interactive Car Care Clinic. Bridgestone also revealed that Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County has been selected as one of 20 Clubs nationwide to receive a $20,000 donation in celebration of $20 million raised through the company’s Driving Great Futures initiative with Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

In celebration of the milestone and in tandem with National Tire Safety Week (June 27 – July 3), local Bridgestone retail teammates were on site for an interactive Car Care Clinic to teach Club teens the basics of vehicle and tire maintenance as a part of preparing them to be good stewards of the road. Training stations focused on checking engine fuel levels including oil and water, proper tire care and maintenance as well as industry-led insights into the different automotive career paths available.

“We are extremely thankful for Bridgestone and this generous donation to support our Clubs. The Car Care Clinic was an amazing hands-on event which provided Club members the opportunity to take away real life skills,” said President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County Jaene Miranda. “Creating far-reaching impact in the community not only takes dedication and hard work, but also requires the support of organizations like Bridgestone. I’m confident we will continue to drive great futures for our members and their families for years to come.”

The Bridgestone Driving Great Futures partnership aligns with the Bridgestone E8 Commitment to realize a sustainable society. Since 2015, the partnership has helped make out-of-school programming more accessible to Club youth and their families through donations collected at the Bridgestone’s 2,200+ retail stores across the country. The Driving Great Futures initiative is an example of the company’s commitment to “Empowerment,” which is defined as contributing to a society that ensures accessibility and dignity for all and “Emotion”, defined as inspiring excitement and spreading joy to the world of mobility. The impactful donation will continue to help support Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County as it provides a safe and fun environment for local youth to attend after school and during the summer.
