The new murals at the Boys & Girls Club of Boca Raton are now complete and they look magnificent. On April 30th, the Club hosted over 50 Office Depot corporate staff for a big day of remodeling at the Club. The transformation was part of Boca Raton-based Office Depot’s 2022 Depot Day of Service. The completed murals were a collaboration between volunteers and some very talented club members. Ms. Fio Podesta, Staff Artist for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County designed and produced the two large-scale murals within the different classrooms. The unique finishing touches were applied by Club members themselves adding their painted handprints to the artwork. Each member’s handprint will hold a special memory for that member and serve as a space of their own every time they return. Some of the other remodeling projects during Depot Day of Service included soundproofing of classrooms, painting throughout the Club, outdoor courtyard improvements, and the installation of all new furniture.
The newly remodeled Boys & Girls Club of Boca Raton promises to have an immediate positive impact on all Club members by creating a more comfortable and beautiful atmosphere that will be conducive to encouraging all children to reach their full potential.
Next mural project: Max M. Fisher Boys & Girls Club of Riviera Beach. Both the art room and gym will soon be sporting brand new original murals to inspire our members to reach higher and grow great!
