Depot Day of Service, along with more than 50 volunteers and a $25,000 donation dramatically transformed Boys & Girls Club of Boca Raton on Saturday, April 30, 2022. The transformation is part of Boca Raton-based Office Depot’s national volunteer event. Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County invested another $50,000 in the remodeling project that included soundproofing of Club classrooms, new flooring and paint throughout the Club, two large murals, outdoor courtyard improvements, and most importantly for Club members, all new furniture. The big reveal of the three-month remodeling project was made at the end of the event as all projects were finished and new furniture was put into place. Palm Beach County Mayor Robert Weinroth, Office Depot National Director of Community Investment Alex Price, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County President & CEO Jaene Miranda were all in attendance.
“Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County is thankful for the continued and generous support from Office Depot,” said President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, Jaene Miranda. “All of our 17 Clubs throughout the county have ramped up service due to pandemic recovery efforts, and our Boca Raton Club started to show the wear and tear. Thanks to the Office Depot volunteers, the generous Office Depot donation, and additional funds provided by Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, the Boca Club will look and feel brand new for our Club members.”
The $25,000 local donation is part of a larger $250,000 gift given to Boys & Girls Clubs of America. As part of Depot Day of Service, Office Depot employees tackled more than 15 service projects across the nation, including the remodeling of Boys & Girls Club of Boca Raton.
“This spring volunteer initiative is one of many throughout the year that our associates look forward to participating in to give back to the communities where they live and do business,” said Gerry Smith, chief executive officer for Office Depot and The ODP Corporation. “From equipping Clubs with new educational furniture and supplies to beautifying indoor and outdoor spaces, to packing and distributing supply kits for members, we’re proud to continue to support Boys & Girls Clubs of America members, parents, and staff again this year through our Depot Day of Service campaign.”
The newly remodeled Boys & Girls Club of Boca Raton promises to have an immediate positive impact on all Club members by creating a more comfortable and beautiful atmosphere that will be conducive to encourining alll children to reach their full potential.
