THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS OF PALM BEACH COUNTY RECEIVE GRANT FROM THE CHARLES LAFITTE FOUNDATION
West Palm Beach, Fla. (January 24, 2017) – The Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County are delighted to announce it has received a $10,000 grant from the Charles LaFitte Foundation (CLF). These funds will go towards supporting the continued operation and overall Mission of the thirteen Clubs throughout the County.
Upon touring the Max M. Fisher Boys & Girls Club in Riviera Beach, the Charles Lafitte Foundation’s leadership quickly realized the intimate correlation with their own Mission. Jeffrey and Suzanne Citron established CLF in 1999 with the goal of providing people the tools needed to help themselves and the others around them to lead healthy, satisfying and enriched lives.
Relying on the dedication of our personnel, both paid and volunteer, and the efficient use of facilities, the Boys & Girls Clubs provide quality programs with a special emphasis on disadvantaged youth regardless of race, creed or socioeconomic background. To achieve this vision, the organization operates 13 sites throughout the county and creates a safe place to learn and grow, ongoing relationships with caring adult professionals, life enhancing programs and character development, and most importantly: hope and opportunity to find success in their lives.
“We are extremely grateful to the Charles LaFitte Foundation for their generosity. Grants like this one is what allows us to continue serving the over 8,000 children in need we serve throughout Palm Beach County very year,” stated Jaene Miranda, CEO of Boys and Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County. “Without our Clubs most of the children we serve would not have a safe place to go after school and we depend on funding like this to continue our operation.”
About the Charles Lafitte Foundation
The Charles Lafitte Foundation (CLF) supports innovative and effective ways of helping people help themselves and others around them to achieve healthy, satisfying and enriched lives. The Foundation supports organizations working in four main areas: education, children’s advocacy, medical research & issues, and the arts. The Foundation underwrites programs that can become self-sustaining with long-term commitment and measurable impact. In determining grants, CLF looks for solutions that lead to independence and self-empowerment for individuals, and to the establishment of effective, long-standing programs and organizations.
